What Does the   PTO Do?

Every year the PTO spends a lot of time and energy fundraising to benefit Macungie Elementary School, but you may wonder, what have we been up to?  Check back on this section of our website often for updates on the different things that PTO has sponsored to benefit our school, students & teachers!

Field Trips: The PTO fully funds all field trip expenses for every grade.

Fall Teacher Stipends: Teachers are given a small stipend at the beginning of the year to help fund classroom supplies.

Spring Teacher Grants: Teachers can apply for special PTO teacher grants in the spring to help them fund special projects that they wish to do with their students. These grants allow teachers to allow their creativity and ingenuity to flow without being constrained to their usual district budget. We were able to fulfill every grant request for the 22/23 school year!

Bounce house and Obstacle Course for Welcome Back Food Truck Fest: The Welcome Back Food Truck Fest is new for this year! We want to welcome in the new school year with a casual school community get together. Your PTO is sponsoring some of the entertainment for families with a bounce house and inflatable obstacle course!

Take Home Folders: You know that Tiger folder that your student brings home all of their important papers in? That is provided by the PTO! Make sure you check out the back cover of that folder each year for important information on how to support your school.

Fifth Grade End of Year Celebration: Moving on to middle school is a big deal and we want to honor our fifth graders by giving them a proper send off. PTO money is allocated for this special event!
